Taking advantage of my current situation, I decided to take a road trip this month to see some good friends and see new parts I haven't yet had to chance to visit. I had a few doubts when I was prepping for it, but there's no time like the present.
Yale Univeristy

Longwood Gardens
Philadelphia, PA

We did the typical Philly things - philly cheesesteak, see the city hall, Chinatown, take a picture in front of the LOVE sign. It's a small city, but filled with enough to do for a weekend i we had stayed longer. I would highly recommend getting food at Reading Terminal Market and getting treats from Chinatown.
More on the rest of the trip later!
Yale Univeristy
Made a quick stop at Yale to see a good friend of mine who's pursuing her doctorate at the moment. Got a little bit of a Hogwarts vibe at this school. Pretty in an old way. It's always heart warming to spend some time with people who haven't seen in so long, but when you meet again it feels like not much has changed at all. On top of that I got to see where they buried the Gibbs Free Energy guy hehe #nerd Study hard my friend!
I met up with my friend from grad school after my stop at Yale. It's been almost a year since we've seen each other, but still feels like nothing has changed even as life goes on - and I'm grateful for that. We spent the weekend finding adventures around Pennsylvania.
Pennsylvania Capital Building
Harrisburg, PA
They say this is the most beautiful capitol building in the country. I'd believe it. The interior is stunning. The walls are covered in 23 karat gold leafing - it's priceless according to its net worth.

If you're in the Harissburg area, I highly recommend trying some Indian/Pakistani food from Zahra. It was so flavorful and delicious!
I'd say the Longwood gardens are an absolute must to see. When we went, there was snow on the ground (yes. snow. in April.), so the trees and flowers outside weren't as impressive, but the conservatory was absolutely stunning! We will definitely return after they finish construction of the fountains - they're supposed to have light shows at night or something, I am so excited to go back there some day!
